Patient Advocacy and Health Literacy: Lucas County Health Department's Event August 29, 2023
Compassion Health Toledo proudly joined the Lucas County Health Department's Patient Advocacy Event, alongside Ohio Health Literacy and other esteemed health leaders. Our very own Jeff Remaklus, Chief Medical Officer, took part in a panel discussing effective strategies for patient advocacy, emphasizing the importance of championing patients' rights and needs. The event also featured presentations by Ohio Health Literacy, shedding light on the critical significance of health literacy. It's worth noting that nearly half of U.S. adults face challenges when it comes to reading, comprehending, and taking action based on health information, making health literacy a vital topic to address.

Our involvement underscores our dedication to community health and well-being, as we work together to raise awareness and offer important screenings right here in Toledo.
